Bmeg Derby Ace LLamados Involved in a Five Player, Three Team Trade

A five-player, three-team trade involving B-MEG and Lina group sister teams Shopinas.com and Barako Bull has been agreed to in principle, kicking off the wheeling and dealing for the squads in preparation for the opening of the 37th PBA season.

Shopinas.com team manager Jovie Saddul confirmed the news to InterAKTV.

“We’re getting Elmer Espiritu and Bryan Ilad from the trade that also involves Don Allado and Mark Barroca,” Saddul wrote in a text message.
A source privy to the trade discussions revealed more details of the transaction.
In the deal, Barako Bull will receive Don Allado and a future second round pick from B-MEG. Shopinas.com will acquire Elmer Espiritu and Bryan Ilad. B-MEG, meanwhile, will finally get the rights to Mark Barroca, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2011 rookie draft.
“I believe it’s a win-win situation for all parties,” said the source. “Barako needs a big man, so they get Allado, Barroca is needed by B-MEG, especially with Jonas Villanueva still injured and Espiritu and Ilad are two young players who can likely fit in with Franz Pumaren’s system.”
“But again, this trade is subject for the approval of the commissioner.”
La Salle reunion
Saddul added that his team is set to sign veteran shooting guard Ren-Ren Ritualo, whose rights where acquired by the Clickers from the Meralco Bolts
Ritualo was a member of the La Salle team that won four straight championships under Pumaren from 1998-2001.
Ilad, meanwhile, also played for Pumaren with the Green Archers/
Aside from Ritualo and Ilad, Pumaren also brought in his staff from La Salle to assist him with his coaching duties – Tonichi Yturri, Jack Santiago and Cholo Villanueva.
